ISL: NEUFC lose another match to 10 men Goa

 |

SHILLONG: NEUFC are aware to FC Goa who are bottom of the table. Both teams are in dire need for a win. NEUFC are fifth on the table and another loss could see them move further down.

Both sides are without key players, Northeast without striker Emiliano Alfaro and Goa without defender Gregory. However Nico Velez and Subrata Paul are back for the Highlanders.

Both sides attack from the get go with chances on both sides in the first ten minutes.

A free kick from Katsumi comes close to hitting the back of the net in the  13th minute.  The Northeast side look good on attack and have created some good chances. The first half has been quite uneventful with neither side being able to break the deadlock.

The half time starts well for Northeast as Seityasen scores in the 49th minute. The young player from Manipur has been good throughout the match so far.

FC Goa equalize in the 62nd minute with the Northeast defence greatly lacking as Goa gets a goal courtesy Robin Singh. Goa are down to ten men in the 71st minute with a second yellow.

NEUFC try to get a second goal but cannot break through the Goa defence. Goa score in the final minute of extra time and get the second goal. The result is disappointing for Northeast fans who were hoping this match would see them find some form.
