Football: I-League clubs to air out grievances at AIFF meet

 |

I-League which is slated to be held next week will discuss the road-map which was tabled a few weeks ago. The road-map which was put forth got a lot of negative feedback as it aimed at making the Indian Super League the primary event while I-League would become second to the ISL.

The clubs in the I-League were also against the emphasis the All India Football Federation (AIFF) put on the "franchise fee" which would have to be paid in order to participate in the ISL. So far about Rs.10 to 15 crores have been garnered from each season of the ISL.

Due to these new guidelines, clubs such as Sporting Clube de Goa and Salgaocar have decided to pull out from next season's I-League.
The AIFF has also decided to add two more teams to the ISL. There are plenty of changes which have been proposed but the bone of contention lies in the matter that the entire I-league will be relegated.

Next week's meeting will hope to figure out a way to solve all the issues and grievances of the clubs especially the ones in th I-League. Whether they will come to some sort of agreement, only time will tell.
