Copa America tournament kicks off; Brazil defeats Venezuela, Ecuador loses to Colombia

 Argentina will play against Chile and Paraguay against Bolivia, tomorrow.

The Copa America tournament, governed by the South American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL) has officially kicked off this morning, June 14.

The tournament which was supposed to be jointly hosted by Argentina and Colombia has now been played in Brazil and will end on July 10. The initial plan was ripped, following the surge in coronavirus cases in Argentina.

In the first match of the tournament this morning, between Brazil and Venezuela, the host Brazil defeated Venezuela in a 3-0 game after Marquinhos, Neymar and Gabriel Barbosa scored goals for their country.

In the second match between Colombia and Ecuador, Edwin Cardona scored the goal for Colombia in the 42nd minute, however, Ecuador could not score back against their rival. The game ended up with a 1-0 score.

Both Brazil and Colombia have won their points in group B.
Brazil will now play against Peru while Colombia against Venezuela, on Thursday.

Argentina will be playing against Chile and Paraguay against Bolivia, tomorrow.
