Assam: CM Sonowal to open Barsapara Stadium on October 10

GUWAHATI, September 14: The north-east will finally get to host another match, this time at the newly built Barsapara Stadium. Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal will inaugurate the cricket stadium of the Assam cricket Association(ACA) at Barsapara on October 10.

Speaking to The Sentinel, Assam Cricket Association secretary Pradip Buragohain said on Wednesday, "We've decided to invite our Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal to inaugurate the stadium just before the T20 game, and we will keep the function very simple."

The tickets for the forthcoming T20 game are likely to go for sale from September 26. He, however, denied disclosing the prices of the tickets. Replying a query the secretary said, "We'll announce it officially very soon."

India will play five ODIs and three T20 Internationals against Australia from September end to mid of October. The series will be followed by three ODIs and as many T20Is against New Zealand. The series against the Black Caps Kiwis will begin late in October and conclude in the first week of November.
