Arunachal Pradesh: State girl to represent India in Austria Kumite championship 

ITANAGAR : Johny Mangkhiya of Arunachal Pradesh has been selected for 68 kg individual Kumite by the Karate Do Association of India to participate in the senior karate championship to be held at Linz, Austria from Oct 26 to 30. Mangkhiya is the first girl from the state to be selected for the prestigious championship organized by the World Karate Federation.

Shihan Likha Tara, president, Arunachal Karate Association has been selected to represent the country as a Team India Coach. Tara is also the vice president of National Karate Federation.

Arunachal Karate Do Association, Secretary General, Bulang Marik has appealed the state government to provide financial assistance to the players who are bringing laurels for the state and the nation.
