Arunachal Pradesh: Kojum Taba makes North-East India proud in Malaysia

ITANAGAR: Junior international weightlifter of Arunachal Pradesh, Kojum Taba has made India proud again in Penang, Malaysia by clinching Senior Commonwealth Weightlifting Championship title. He not only became Senior Commonwealth Champion but also defended the Junior Commonwealth title by winning Gold medal for the second consecutive time.

Taking part in the 85 kg weight category, he excelled all the attempts by finishing with a total lift of 330 Kg including 146 Kg in Snatch and 184 Kg in Clean & Jerk thereby breaking his own records set during selection trial conducted by Indian Weightlifting Federation a few weeks ago at NIS Patiala, Punjab.

Prior to this, he was the Youth, Junior and Senior National Champion including the defending Junior Commonwealth Weightlifting Champion.

Lifter Kojum will return to India on 30th October and will board again for Tokyo, Japan on November 7 next.
