Arunachal Pradesh: All India Badminton Tournament kicks off in state

ITANAGAR: The Dorjee Khandu All India Senior Ranking Badminton Tournament started on Thursday at the Raj Bhawan Badminton Indoor Stadium in Arunachal Pradesh. The tournament is being organized by the Arunachal State Badminton Association under the aegis of Badminton Association of India.

The tournament is taking place over a six day period and there are over 500 players representing different states.This is a huge boost for promoting the sport in the Northeast region.

The tournament was inaugurated by Chief Minister Pema Khandu and he stressed importance on the benefits of sports and plans to open a badminton academy in the state.
