Aizawl FC beat Shillong Lajong in I-Day tournament

The Independence Day football tournament saw Shillong Lajong take on Aizawl FC at the semi-finals. The Mizoram side proved stronger and won 3-2 over the Shillong side. The match was very evenly contested and went into extra time where the hosts prevailed.

The first goal came from Lajong's Bipin Singh. Aizawl FC then equalized in the 43rd minute with a goal from Bright Mends. After the break, Lajong scored their second goal in the 50th minute courtesy Zoherliana.  Albert Zohmingmawia found the equalizer at the 87th minute. He again found the back of the net in the 104th minute which was enough for the hosts to win the match.
