AFC Cup: Bengaluru FC script history by making it to finals
Bengaluru FC made history by being the first club from India to make it to the finals of the AFC Cup. The Indian side defeated defending champions Johor Darul Ta'zim by a 3-1 margin in the second leg of the tournament which was held in Bengaluru.
The first leg saw both sides settle for a 1-1 draw. Bengaluru FC who are also current I-League Champions were phenomenal yesterday as Sunil Chhetri inspired a riveting performance not just from himself but the entire team. The Malaysian side were ahead by the 11th minute but the Bengaluru side pulled off the win. Sunil Chhetri and Shillong footballer Eugeneson Lyngdoh were outstanding on the night which will forever be remembered in Indian football history.
