Two Dibrugarh University students test COVID positive, department declared 'containment zone'

DIBRUGARH:

The Dr Bhupen Hazarika Centre for Studies in Performing Arts of Dibrugarh University was declared a 'containment zone' after two first-semester female students of the department tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday.

Dibrugarh University Registrar in-charge, Jiten Hazarika, stated that the department will remain in a containment zone with effect from Monday, for seven days.

All students, teachers and employees of the department are advised to keep themselves in home isolation and to go for the standard Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) test within three days.

Meanwhile, the total number of COVID positive cases in the Dibrugarh district has touched 14,989 till February 21.
