Meghalaya :NEIGHRIMS Director on his way out of Shillong

 The current director of the prestigious NEIGHRIMSas head of the Cardiothoracic surgery department of the Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) is on his way out if reports are to be believed .

An order to this effect was issued after Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, who is the Chairperrson of SKIMS Governing Body approved his appointment. He was among the three candidates shortlisted by the selection committee.That Director A G Ahangar has consented to appear for this also implies that he is open to suggestions that he would like to move out of Shillong .

The tenure of A G Ahangar has been eventful to say the least with The Meghalaya , HighCourt has issued an arrest warrant against North Eastern Indira Gandhi Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS) Director A G Ahangar for defying its order for his deposition in a case related to allocation of medical seats to institute officials under the central quota for faculty.

It should be recalled that NEIGRIHMS has had 17 directors in the 25 years of its existence and the current director was seen as close to the former heath minister of India and also the JnK Chief minister Ghulam Nabi Azad
