UPSC postpones Civil Services Preliminary exam 2020

Civil Services Preliminary exam 2020 has been postponed and deferred by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) due to the COVID-19 pandemic situation in the country.

According to officials in the UPSC, a call will be on the new date after "assessment" by May 20. A meeting of the Commission, chaired by Arvind Saxena, was held on Monday to take the call to defer the exam with senior UPSC officials. The decision comes after the Central government extended the lockdown for two weeks starting May 4.

UPSC in a notification stated, "The Civil Services Prelims Exam 2020 scheduled to be held on 31 May, stands Deferred and the new dates will be made available on 20 May 2020".

The UPSC will announce the new exam date of the Civil Services Preliminary exam 2020 on 20 of this month.

The UPSC was supposed to organise this Prelims exam on 31 May 2020 for the recruitment in the civil services.
