Nagaland: NBSE results may be delayed this year

DIMAPUR, May 4, 2018: Students of Class 10 and 12 in Nagaland under NBSE have to wait a bit longer for their Class 10 and 12 results this year. The results of the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) and the Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) examinations results, are usually declared either on last week of April or first week of May.

However, it is not fault of the Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE), as the whole process was delayed due to election to the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly on February 27.

Consequently, the exam, usually conducted in the month of February, started from March 8. Last year the results were declared on May 8, while in 2015 and 2016, the results were out by April 30 and May 3 repectively.

When contacted, an NBSE official told The Morung Express that the declaration of the results may be delayed a week or two from normal date, without giving a specific date.

He informed that the usual processes were affected due to the assembly election resulting in deferment of exams. When the results are finalised, the NBSE will definitely give out relevant information to the public, the official added. As per the Board's record, a total of 36993 students registered to appear for 2018 HSLC & HSSLC examinations. In Class 12, there were 15281 candidates while 21712 sat for the exam in Class 10.
