MBOSE Results 2020: Lesser known schools beat top institutes in SSLC exams

SHILLONG/TURA | JULY 20, 2020:

The Secondary School Leaving Certification (SSLC) examination result in 2020 was filled with surprises.

The result which was released by the Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBoSE) on Monday witnessed unknown schools dominating the merit list much to the dismay of the elite educational institutions like St Anthony's Higher Secondary (HS) School, St Mary's HS School, St Margaret HS School, and others.

Like last year, a school from Tura in West Garo Hills bagged the top position this year.

It was a matter of pride and joy for a school in West Garo Hills– Sherwood School in Tura after a student of this school – Chetna Bose secured the top position with total marks of 568 out of 600, beating the likes of St Anthony's, St Mary's besides others.

Another student, who bagged the second position, is Sainava Modak of St. Thomas Higher Secondary School in Shillong. She secured 565 out of 600 marks.

Meanwhile, the 3rd position was occupied by Ainamdaphisa P Byrsat from Little Flower School, Shillong, securing total marks of 561. The 4th position was bagged by Armanki War from Seven Set Higher Secondary School, Shillong who secured 555 marks, and the 5th position was secured by Dalang Myrthong of Mairang Presbyterian HS School, Mairang with total marks of 554.
