Manipur: Pre-primary classes to start in 60 govt model schools in state

Manipur government is ready to introduced pre-primary classes at various sixty selected government model schools in state. These schools will include one from each assembly constituency under the chief minister N Biren Singh's brainchild mission 'School Fagat-Hansi',

Primary objective of the mission is to provide quality education to students and provide them the opportunity to start studying in government institutions right from pre-primary to X or XII.

He further said that all these sixty model schools would come with modern facilities such as smart classes, computer laboratories, open gyms, separate toilets for boys and girls, etc.

He added that Rs 24 crore had been earmarked in the state budget for upgrading these 60 model schools, while another Rs 19 crore had been sanctioned by the centre for the purpose.

Many government teachers have applied for teaching posts in these schools, the CM said and added that faculty lists will be finalized after completing the necessary recruitment process through interviews.

Biren said, many parents, who want to send their children to private schools, had come to him on Meeyamgi Numit (People's Day) to seek financial assistance from him. Therefore implementing the mission will reduce financial burden on poor families.
