Manipur chalks out safety-strategy option to re-open schools

Minister of Education for Manipur, Dr Th. Radheshyam met representatives of several students' organization to discuss preparedness scenarios if schools are to re-open in this time of the pandemic.

Radheysham said, " The meeting discussed the necessary steps to be taken for the safety of students for the upcoming exams that will be conducted during this pandemic."

Educational institutes in Manipur have been closed for more than five months since the beginning of the lockdown in March this year.

An interactive session with the teachers by maintaining social distancing in a phase-wise manner and implementation of SOP in educational institutes were also discussed in the meeting

The meeting witnessed other officials such as Commissioner, Education (S) T Ranjit Singh; Commissioner, Higher & Technical Education, M Harekrishna; Director Education (S) L Nandakumar Singh; Director, University & Higher Education, Kh Diana and other officials of the Department Of Education.
