"We have been pushed to a future of uncertainty….. Even, our families are spending sleepless night following the SC verdict as jobs. Therefore, we want the state government to ensure alternative for all of us",  Uttam Kumar Dey spoke on behalf of the Association. He further added that thousands of teachers have resolved to give the state government 48-hours time beginning from December 6 to turn around their bleak future.

"If the government fails to address our one-point demand, we will bring the entire state to a halt by blocking National Highway and Railway service for indefinite period", Dey said adding that the agitational programme will be originated at Manu in Dhalai district.

Dey further said that 10,323 teachers and their family members will join the agitational programme if the government doesn't pay heed to their demand- alternative arrangement of jobs as all limits of patience have been crossed. As many as 10.323 teachers will be sacked from their respective job as a result of the Supreme Court's decision to uphold the High Court's verdict which is to terminate 10,323 teachers appointed by a policy not compliant to the obligatory qualifications mandated by the Right to Education Act (RTE), 2009.
