COVID19 comes as a boon for JEE and NEET students

The Central Government has decided to postpone the national level of medical and engineering exams. The decision was taken after a panel was formed to decide the feasibility of conducting exams keeping in view to the increase in the number of Covid-19 cases.

Union Minister of Human Resource Development (HRD) Pokhriyal had announced that the JEE Main 2020 examination will now be held between September 1 to 6, while JEE advanced exam will be held on September 27. NEET 2020 exam date has been fixed for September 13.

Dr Pokhriyal, in a tweet, said, "Keeping in mind the safety of students and to ensure quality education we have decided to postpone #JEE & #NEET examinations. JEE Main examination will be held between 1st-6th Sept, JEE advanced exam will be held on 27th Sept & NEET examination will be held on 13th Sept."

The NEET exams will be held on September 13 while the JEE Main examinations will be conducted between September 1 and September 6.

The JEE Advanced or IIT JEE will be held on September 27.

National Testing Agency (NTA) has been directed to put up thermal check-ups at entry points and to make the wearing of masks in these exam centers mandatory. The HRD Ministry has also directed the NTA to increase the number of exam centers and to allow fewer students in the exam halls. This comes as a measure to ensure that the health and safety of the students are not compromised.
