CBI asks Manipur PSC to follow guidelines in conducting fair competitive exam

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in a letter on Tuesday had asked the Manipur Public Service Commission to follow certain guidelines in order to conduct a fair and transparent Manipur Civil Service Combined Competitive (MCSCC-Main) examination.

The Manipur High Court had quashed the recruitment of the 2016 batch of state civil services because of irregularities found in the selection of the cadres during MPSC civil service examination 2016.

The recommendation includes following proper procedures regarding engagement of lecturers for transparent scrutiny and evaluation of answer sheets, and to emulate the procedures followed by UPSC for maintaining confidentiality, transparency, efficiency and insulation at all stages i.e. from a selection of examination centres to the declaration of results. It has also recommended the use of CCTV while conducting the main exam.

Meanwhile, students bodies have sought investigation and punishment of the officials involved in the malpractices of the MPSC civil service examination 2016. It has asked for cleansing of the MPSC before conducting the exam.
