Assam: NEET exam delayed for paper shortage

GUWAHATI, May 7, 2018: The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) was delayed in one of the centres, on Sunday because of shortage of questions papers.

One of the students, who appeared for the exam at the Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya centre, said the timing was 10am to 1pm but the examination was conducted in two sessions owing to question paper shortage.

However, many students left the exam midway because they were not supplied question papers in their preferred languages which made it difficult for them to understand the questions.

"We applied for the exam online and ticked our preferred language in the application form. But at the exam centre, we were supplied question papers in English and Hindi. The exam was supposed to start at 10am but due to shortage of question papers, it started at 1pm. We were given the same question papers with ticks made by students who sat for the exam in the first half," a student alleged.

Some students alleged the system of distributing the same question papers was unfair and demanded a re-examination.

The CBSE conducted the NEET, which is an exam for admission in MBBS and BDS courses in medical colleges across the country.
