Assam: IIT-G, Tezpur University rank among 300 universities in BRICS ranking

GUWAHATI, December 1, 2017: Recently the Tezpur University (TU) and IIT-Guwahati have been featured in a publish QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) BRICS University Rankings 2018.

QS BRICS University Rankings which was launched in 2013 evaluated and ranked top 300 universities including universities from Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa (BRICS). IIT-Guwahati is in the 52nd position while Tezpur University (TU) has been placed in the 171-180th bracket in this year's rankings.

The universities were evaluated with eight factors that includes — academic reputation (30%), employer reputation (20%), faculty/student ratio (20%), staff with a PhD (10%), papers per faculty (10%), citations per paper (5%), international faculty (2.5%) and international students (2.5%).
