2 girls top CBSE Class 12 exam with 499 marks; pass percentage 83.4

Two girls hailing from Uttar Pradesh schools have topped the CBSE class 12 examination. The results which was declared on Thursday.

Hansika Shukla of DPS Meerut Road, Ghaziabad, and Karishma Arora SD Public school Muzaffarnagar topped with 499 out of 500 marks.

Three girls stood second with 498 marks each– Gaurangi Chawla of Nirmal Ashram school Rishikesh, Aishwarya of KV Rai Bareilly, Bhavya BR of the SK International Public School Jind, Haryana.

As in the past years, girls did better this year too with 88.70 pass percentage as compared to 79.4 per cent of the boys .

HRD minister Prakash Javadekar congratulated 10 lakk students who passed the Class 12 CBSE exams. "Congratulations #KV for 98.54 % success & #JNV for 96.62% success rate even the general result is 83.4 % . Government schools have fared better @kvsedu," he tweeted.

Around 13 lakh students appeared for the CBSE Class 12 examination. The results have been announced within 28 days of the last date of the examination. The Class 12 examination began on February 16, earlier than previous years.
