Tripura :Its the end of the road for Sudip Roy Barman and Sushanta in Congress

The Congress Party has suspended former Congress President and CLP leader Sudip Roy Barman along with his protege Sushanta Choudhary from the Party.

There has been a build up to this with Sudip Roy Barman criticising the party leadership on this understanding with the Left in West Bengal.Rumours that Sudip Roy Barman may join TMC after the poll results in WestBengal was already doing the rounds.

Another of his Protégée Bikki Prasad , the former NSUI president of the state has also been suspended from the party.

In retaliation people considered close to the former CLP leader ransacked the Congress Party office in Agartala and an FIR has been filed in this regard by PCC President Birajit Sinha.

With the Congress suspending Sudip Barman , their virtual 23 year reign over the Congress Party in Tripura has come to an end.Samir Barman or Sudip Barman have held posts of Congress President or the leader of the opposition for most of the  last 23 years and virtually controlled the fate of the Party.

It is expected that the Congress is all set to completely revamp the part and get rid of the image that the party was run by goons and criminals unlike the Left Front led by Manik Sarkar.
