Tripura :Bijan Dhar says Allying with Congress was a Blunder

 |

In what may be the severing of all ties with the Congress ,CPI(M) Tripura state secretary has finally stated that seat sharing with the Congress was a blunder.

He also said that this issue will be taken up at the party's central committee meeting.State Chief Minister Manik Sarkar is the lone politburo member in the national body.

Questioning that "I don't understand how the central committee has approved the adventurous decision which will have a serious consequence in the days to come", Dhar also said that "The decision to forge alliance with party like Congress was totally against the party's central committee's resolution",

This seems to be an open rebellion by the faction which is anti Sitaram Yechury and pro Prakash Karat.

The left won Kerela and in West Bengal where it had an alliance lost miserably with the Congress getting more seats than the Communist.

The State Congress in Tripura is reeling with CLP leader Sudip Roy Barman most likely to join Trinamool Congress along with his supporters which includes former Youth Congress president Sushanta Choudhary .

Meanwhile Working Congress President and the erstwhile royal scion of Tripura  Pradyot Manikya Debbarma has said that allying with the Left in West Bengal has sent a wrong message in Tripura as thousands of workers of Congress,INPT,IPFT and other parties were killed or denied jobs under the vindictive left rule.

Pradyot Manikya Debbarma also added that 'Certain Alliances which are made in Delhi will have to consider the impact and consequences that the Congress has faced in Tripura, the sooner the leadership says that the understanding with the Left is over the better it is for us' he added.

Birajit Sinha has also called for the ending of this alliance though he has left it to the party leadership to decide when to do so.

Mamata Bannerjee has already stated after her win in West Bengal that her next target is Tripura.
