Tezpur MP makes a mockery of the Delhi odd even scheme in Parliament

 |

Assam is ravaging under the recent floods and there are issues galore where the state is suffering due to acute shortage of funds and lack of proper health and sanitation .

But for Tezpur MP Ram Prasad Sharma who is an advocate at the Guwahati High Court and the representative of the Tezpur Parliamentary seat their are better things to do rather than raise issues specific to the state .

In continuation with the BJP's opposition to the odd even scheme introduced by the Aam Aadmi Party in Delhi the MP from Tezpur decided to take a horse in scoring heat to the parliament to oppose this scheme .

While many in the opposing Party have said that this was a step taken to get maximum media attention during the current session in the Parliament , the MP himself has gone on record to state  that "There was no vehicle available and my own car is even numbered. I requested in vain for the Parliament ferry service but it did not turn up and taxi charges were very high. That is why I rode the horse to the Parliament,'.

Perhaps he should realise that this gimmickry is not why the people of Tezpur elected him to represent them in the parliament or are the politicians from the Northeast also falling prey to Prime Time media attention ?
