Social Media goes viral after Wikipedia wrongly states popular Manipur actress Lin Laishram commits suicide

Social media is abuzz after some malicious people uploaded false news about popular Manipuri actress Lin Laishram had committed suicide in her Mumbai Apartment .

Lin Laishram who has featured in movies like Om Shanti Om and Mary Kom has spoken to us and cleared this rumour terming it as malicious .She will be filing a complaint with the police .

She also confirmed that she has been getting calls from friends and family after these posts me up in Wikipedia.

Over the years there have been many allegations that sources like Wikipedia has become a place where anyone can edit information and give an incorrect picture of an event.Wikipedia does not require  a registered user to edit real facts and  anyone can log in and morph facts.

Lin Laishram has been one of the more successful actors and will also feature prominently in Vishal Bhardhwaj next film Rangoon which also starts Saif Ali and Shahid Kapoor along with Kangana Ranaut .
