Pop Icon George Michael passes away at 53, reports suggest death as unexplained

Pop icon George Michael has died at the age of 53 and like his life his death is shrouded in mystery .

While his publicist has admitted that there is nothing suspicious about his death and that George Michael passed away peacefully there have been reports that the singer had not been keeping the best of health.

His demise according to authorities has been termed as an Unexplained death.

In the past George Michael had to cancel his Symphonica European tour after feeling chest pains. This sparked rumors that he might have had HIV, although this was not confirmed. According to the BBC, doctors reportedly performed a tracheotomy at the time and he was unconscious for a time in the hospital.

"It almost killed me," he said of the illness he said in an interview adding that  "On a subconscious level, it was very frightening and I'll probably never feel quite as safe in life again."

He sold over 100 million albums during his four-decade career. Celebrity Net Worth estimates that he had an estimated net worth of $200 million.

Last month George was reported to have rekindled his friendship with the man he declared the love of his life, Kenny Goss.

The couple were together for 13 years before the former Wham! Star's split from the Texan art dealer in 2009.
