Monika Khangembam was not racially abused say Internal enquiry may need to clarify facts when she returns to India
In a interesting turn of events the internal inquiry conducted by the Bureau of Immigration has concluded that Monika Khangembam was wrong in stating that the officer who interviewed her was being racist .
"We conducted an inquiry and found that the official only asked her one question — to name the States Manipur shares its boundary with. It is not unusual for immigration officials to ask such questions.
Despite trying to contact Monika Khangembam several times she could not be reached for her reaction on the enquiry reports conclusions.
Monika Khangembam in her Facebook post had written "The bloody racist immigration desk at it again! Looks at my Passport and says, "Indian toh nahi lagti ho". I get that all the time so don't react much to it but then he goes on, "Pakka Indian ho?" with a smirk. I still don't react. What really got me was when he said, See… You yourself need to know your Indianness. How many States are there in India?"

The inquiry however has not Yet stated other questions which Monika Alleged were asked to her by the officer such as 'Indian toh nahi lagtee ho' ?
If such questions were not asked by the officer then Monika Khangembam could face serious charges of misleading the people and the government of misrepresenting facts as this incident was highlighted by most major media houses and got a lot of publicity.
Central ministers such as Kiren Rijiju and Sushma swaraj got involved in this matter and an enquiry was ordered in this matter.
The woman passenger in question who witnessed the incident will also be likely questioned in this matter said the authorities.
Monika who hails from Manipur is currently in South Korea is expected to be back in India later this month and could be asked to clarify on this matter.
