Meghalaya Government asks for a detailed report from Pawan Hans after technical scare

The Pawan Hans does not have a good record when it comes to safety especially when it comes to the Northeast says one official without wanting to being named adding that it is confusing that now they have signed a MOU with NEC to now fly planes after their track record on safety.

Well the DONER Minister for now has got a taste of how Pawan Hans plies when his helicopter failed to take off due to a technical glitch last week.This could have been more alarming if this glitch was detected if the chopper was in air.It is believed that Pawan Hans sent another helicopter to Finally fly Jitendra Singh ,Minister Doner to fly back to guwahati after the chopper which he came by initially failed to 'take off'.

Over the years there have been several incidents reported where Pawan hans have been involved including an incident when 9 people including many legislators died in a crash .Chief Minister of Arunachal Pema Khandu to met his end in a chopper crash a few years ago .

Not taking this issue lightly the Government of Meghalaya has ordered for a detailed report  from the company "We will seek a detailed report from Pawan Hans on the incident as to why the helicopter which was to ferry the Union Minister to Guwahati airport failed to take off," state Transport Minister said.

"The government was not aware of the technical snag, but if such an incident had occurred then it is a serious matter, considering the safety and security of people who are using the helicopter," the Minister added.
