Manipur:Over a dozen Congress MLA’s in talks to crossover to BJP

With two sitting congress legislators already resigning the Manipur Congress was already tottering with internal strife fuelled by speculations that the sitting Ibobi singh government is on its last leg .

Now there are strong rumours that unto 12 to 14 Congress MLA's are now contemplating to resign from the party and join the saffron brigade.

This would lead to a situation where the Manipur Government may end up losing its majority in the state.

'We know that about 6 to 7 MLA's have contacted us and they are stating that along with them there are about 10 more MLA's who would like to cross over to the party' said one such BJP Karyakarta

However there is also a view within the BJP that crossing over by certain MLA's who are tainted may not help the party and they would rather wait and watch then simply allowing anyone to join the party.

The State Congress on its part has contacted AICC to inform the leadership of the evolving situation and would like to avoid a Arunachal Pradesh like situation .
