Gujarat Chief Minister takes to Facebook to announce her Resignation officially

 |

In what maybe seen as a first the CM of Gujarat , Anandiben Patel has taken to  Facebook to state that she would like to quit. The BJP has accepted her offer which was also communicated first through Facebook and is expected to announce her replacement tomorrow, most likely Nitinbhai Patel, currently the state's Health Minister.

This is seen as unprecedented as Facebook or social media posts were not officially considered as official notifications.

In the Past the BJP has been accused of communicating through Social media posts rather than official communique .

The Controversy of the Naga Peace Accord was also cleared by Home Minister Kiren Rijiju through a tweet where he clearly 'Tweeted' that no assurances  were given to NSCN for spirit passport or Flags.

Hand Picked by Prime Minister Narendra Modi as his replacement in Gujarat in 2014, Anandiben posted that she turns 75 in two months and respects the BJP's principle of retiring older leaders to promote younger ones. BJP sources say that for obliging the party with her resignation, she could be appointed Governor soon.
