From Love Jihad,car theft to finishing third is it the end of the road for Ruma Nath ?

First she was thrashed in a case which many alleged was a love jihad then arrested in an international car theft racket.The colourful and eventful term of MLA Ruma Nath finally came to an halt when she finished a dismal third in Assembly election held in Assam

So poor was her performance that many in the Congress Party are questioning why she was even given a ticket in the first place .

'She damaged the image of the part even more after the leadership decided to give her the ticket ' said Nileshwar Goswami a congress worker from the area where she was once hailed as a hope.

So bad was her showing that she polled just 21,946 votes .

Rumi Nath had secretly married Jacky Zakir  by embracing Islam (her Islamic name was Rabiya Sultana ~ Editor, Hindu Existence. )  without divorcing her first husband Rakesh Kumar Singh. After refusing of her marriage for many days, on May, 2012, the then Borkhola MLA Rumi Nath dramatically confessed to her second marriage with Jacky Zakir and after which a sensation sparked in the entire valley.

Last year she was arrested in connection with two cases registered in two different police stations – Dispur and Azara – in which car-theft kingpin Anil Chauhan who had accused her of gifting a luxury car.
