Assam: Akon Bora faces the wrath of Investigation agency ,alleges Poltical vendetta

Former Minister and Congress Leader Akon Bora is in the net for what maybe the biggest scam to hit the Tarun Gogoi government which ruled Assam for three terms.

Bora was Social Welfare Minister in the Tarun Gogoi-led Congress Government for six years.

The Vigilance and Anti-Corruption wing of the Assam government on Friday grilled former social welfare minister, Akon Bora in connection with alleged Rs 2,000 Crore scam in the social welfare department .

He was grilled by the authorities  over several hours and will likely be called again for questioning .

This is the first Big Scam unearthed by the newly elected BJP government in Assam and the current Chief Minister has stated that no one will be allowed to get away in this scam.There was allegation that nine lakh fake entries of children were done leading to draining out of an amount of Rs 150 crore per year for last 15 years. There is also allegations of creation of 400 fake Anganwadi centres

For the time being only he Former CM Tarun Gogoi has sprung to the defence of Akon Bora but there are many leaders within the Congress who are staying away from this controversy .

Akon Bora for his part has said that he shall address the media on Saturday to clear his name and expose the political vendetta against him by the State Government .
