SHILLONG:

The inconclusive talks between the Centre, the Meghalaya government and social organisations on the issue of Inner Line Permit (ILP) have once again stirred the emotion of the people.

Graffiti and scribblings on the walls are expressions of the disapproval of some of the student bodies in the state over the silence and delay of the Centre to accord ILP to Meghalaya.

Anti-government and pro-ILP slogans were scribbled on the walls, serving as a grim reminder of the bygone years when the ILP agitation was at its peak.

Earlier, the student bodies and pressure groups of the state like the Khasi Students' Union (KSU), Hynniewtrep Youth Council (HYC), Federation of Khasi, Jaintia and Garo People (FKJGP) have threatened to intensify their agitation following a disappointing meeting with union Home Minister Amit Shah in Shillong recently.
