COVID-19 death toll rises to 2,197 in B’desh

NEW DELHI | JULY 08, 2020:
Health officials in Bangladesh reported 46 more COVID-19 related deaths on Wednesday, taking the total number of fatalities in the country to 2,197.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) informed that the total number of COVID-19 cases in the country stands at 1,72,134 after 3,489 people tested positive in the last 24 hours till 8 am on Wednesday.
At the same time, 2,736 patients have recovered.
The recovery rate in the country currently stands at 46.96 per cent, while the mortality rate is 1.28 per cent. A total of 15,672 samples were tested across the country in the last 24 hours with 22.26 per cent positive results.
