Tripura implements UGC/AICTE pay scale for college teachers

The long pending demand for UGC scale salary of the state government college faculties has been finally solved by the BJP-IPFT collation government. The state ministerial cabinet in a meeting last evening decided that all state government medical, technical and general degree college faculties will get UGC and AICTE recommended salaries.

"A total of 532 general degree college faculties, 24 Krishi college faculties, 34 Veterinary college faculties and 5 Art college faculties along with 93 Agartala Government Medical College faculties will get revised salary according to UGC scale from the cut off date of 1st October,2017", said Education Minister, Ratan Lal Nath.

He further added " There are 113 faculties in two technical degree colleges of the state. Their salary will also be revised according to AICTE recommendations from the same cut off date. For this entire revision of salary, an additional amount of 31.62 cr is required. UGC and AICTE will provide 50% of the total amount required. This was a long pending demand of the college faculties which the recommendations for which has been approved for by the cabinet".
