The Opposition Congress on Friday boycotted the Governor's address on the first day of the Budget Session over the latter"s statement over Kashmiris post the Pulwama attack of February 14.

It may be mentioned that the Governor, Tathagata Roy recently supported the demand made by a retired army official to boycott everything Kashmiri in the wake of the Pulwama attack last month.

"He is creating a rift in the nation. The Nation's fight is against the terrorists and not against community or people. Will such people like the governor of Meghalaya in the advent of an attack in the Northeast say that Northeast people should be alienated by boycotting the goods of the northeast?" said CLP leader Dr Mukul Sangma while adding that It is completely unbecoming of a person who holds a constitutional post.

These are the people who are dividing the nation and trying to give fodder to the anti national forces, said Mukul adding that in order to send a strong message, the Congress staged a walk out.

Stating that the Prime Minister should have pulled up the governor and removed him from office soon after the statement was made, the Congress leader said that these actions should have been initiated in the best interest of the nation.
