2 from Manipur to be part of Delhi-Geneva peace march

IMPHAL | September 10, 2019:

Two people from Manipur namely Haobijam Surjit and Karam Tania will be a part of yearlong global peace march starting from Delhi to Geneva.

Marking the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the 14,000 KM-long march will kick off on October 2.

Convenor of Jai Jagat coordinating committee Rishikanta Aribam said fifty people from across the nation, including the two from the state, would be taking part in the walk.

People from different countries would also join the Indian marchers. They are expected to reach Geneva by September 26 next year where a week-long convention would be held. The idea is to start a dialogue on topics pertaining to social justice and peace.
