Meghalaya High Court invites applications in a prescribed format from eligible Indian citizens for filling up 5 (Five) posts in the cadre of District Judge.

Interested and eligible candidates may apply for the Cadre of District Judge in Meghalaya High Court by submitting the application in the prescribed application form on or before fifteen days from the date of publication of this advertisement (Published on 04-12-2018).

No of posts:- 5 (Khasi & Jaintia-2, Garo-2, Others-1)
Age limit:- Maximum 35 years as on 01-01-2018. Upper age limit relaxable to 48 years for SC and 45 years for ST candidates.
Pay Scale:- Rs. 51,550-1230-58930-1380-63,070/- per month plus other allowances as admissible.
Essential Qualification:- Must be a Law degree holder from a recognized University and practicing as an Advocate in Courts of criminal and civil jurisdiction for a period of not less than 7 (seven) years.

How to apply for District Judge Jobs in Meghalaya High Court

The application form shall be duly filled in by the advocate, in his/her own hand, accompanied by 2 (Two) duly attested recent passport size photographs (one to be affixed at the space in the format), attested copies of academic/provisional qualification Certificates, Matriculation Certificate, Schedule Tribe/ Caste Certificate accompanied with a Treasury Challan, of Rs. 1000/- for General candidates, Rs. 500/- for SC/ST candidates shall be deposited under the Head "0070 Other Administrative Service-01-Administration of Justice-8oo-Other Receipts" through the Shillong South Treasury during scheduled office hours on or before 17th December 2018.

Duly filled application form along with all particulars should reach the office of the Register General, High Court of Meghalaya, Shillong on or before fifteen days from the date of publication of this advertisement (Published on 04-12-2018).

Selection Procedure for Meghalaya High Court District Judge Posts

The competitive examination for appointment of District Judges by direct recruitment shall consist of:-

A written examination comprising of 3(three) papers of two hours duration each. Each paper shall carry 100 marks.
Viva-Voce shall carry 50 marks.
The candidate from General Category who obtain 6o% or more marks and the candidate who obtain 50% or more marks in Reserved Category in the written examination shall be eligible for viva-voce.
