 |

After the launch of its Junior Android tablet for kids in October 2015, Swipe Telecom has once again expanded its innovation in the form of the Junior smartphone especially built for children. The phone, available across several e-commerce websites at a price of Rs. 5,999, comes with a host of parental control features and focuses on children in between 5-15 years of age.

The Swipe Junior features a customised User Interface meant to attract children and comes with geo-tracking and geo-fencing besides allowing parents to set safe and danger zones for their children. Parents will now be able to enable or disable apps on the device which also comes with an SOS key on for single dial to a contact. A useful feature of the Swipe Junior is that it is shock proof and has a break protective casing.

Specs for the Android 4.4 KitKat, single-SIM Junior smartphone include a 4.5-inch IPS display, 1.3GHz dual-core processor, 512MB of RAM, and 4GB of inbuilt storage. Connectivity features are supported by Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, and Micro-USB. Camera quality is not great as the rear sports a 2-megapixel camera while the front is equipped with a 0.3-megapixel lens. Battery backup is expected to be average with a 1900mAh battery claimed to provide 8 hours of talk time and 120 hours on standby.
