NEW DELHI: Bollywood actor Sonu Sood on December 13, launched another relief measure for the needy amid COVID-19 pandemic by starting the e-rickshaws initiative.

Concerning the initiative, the prominent actor posted, "Khud kamaao, ghar chalao" on Instagram.

The actor, who is known for his humanitarian service during the pandemic, said that it was the love he received from people, that motivated him to continue his service for the needy, ANI reported.

"I have received a lot of love from people over the past few months. And that has motivated me to continue being there for them. So, I have launched the 'Khud kamaao ghar chalaao' initiative," the actor said.

"I believe providing job opportunities is more important than distributing supplies. I'm sure that this initiative will help them stand on their feet yet again by making them self-reliant and self-sufficient."

At the onset of a pandemic, Sood had also created the Pravasi Rojgar app, that employed about 50,000 people. The app linked them to several companies who needed labourers.

The actor had also helped stranded labourers return to their homes by arranging transport, as the economy was ripped apart by the COVID-19 pandemic.
