VP, Union Ministers laud launch of COVID vaccination drive

As India kicked off the biggest vaccination drive on Saturday, various union leaders applauded the scientists for developing the vaccine in record time.

President M. Venkaiah Naidu described the launch of the anti-coronavirus immunisation drive as a "red-letter day" for the people of India.

Union Minister, Amit Shah, extolled the vaccination roll-out programme and said, "Made-in-India vaccines represent the determination of a self-reliant India."

After launching the COVID-19 immunisation drive, Prime Minister Narendra Modi asserted that the made-in-India vaccines would ensure a decisive victory for the country over the coronavirus pandemic.

The first phase of the vaccination drive which started across the country aims to inoculate three crore health and frontline workers in the first phase.
