Road in Vijaynagar will be motorable by March 2022, says Arunachal CM

ITANAGAR:
The road in Vijaynagar will be motorable by March 2022, said Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu following his visit to the area on Sunday.
Vijaynagar, in Arunachal Pradesh’s Changlang district, is a valley surrounded on three sides by neighbouring Myanmar and, for many years, work on the entire stretch of road remained incomplete despite the project receiving the green light frequently.
“It took us two days to reach Vijaynagar from Miao, travelling 157 km through mud and jungle,” Khandu said.

“They (people of Vijaynagar) have lived in abject poverty for decades owing to lack of road. Yet, it has not deterred their love for the country. I will make sure the road to prosperity reaches them,” he added.
According to pictures and videos shared by Khandu, the road in Vijaynagar is in a dilapidated condition.
