While addressing the media, Birajit stated that during his visit to the remote village during the panchayat election, he faced a number of threats. He said that if anything happens to him, DGP AK Shukla will be responsible, added Sinha.

He further stated that BJP supporters had blocked his way while he was on his visit to the villages and his car was also attacked. He alleged that they were plotting to kill him.

However, Sinha stated that he has filed a complaint with the police but so far no action has been taken.

Tripura Pradesh Congress also announced that the party will soon announce names of 35000 booth-helpers after instructions from Congress President Rahul Gandhi.

Sinha said, "Rahul Gandhiji has instructed that in each pooling station, there will be 10 booth-shayogi (booth-helpers). Already we have completed the constitution of Block Congress committee and the formation of Booth Congress committee is also almost 80% completed. Soon we will announce the names of 35000 boooth helpers. There will be a total of 1 crore booth helpers across India."

Sinha also accused the BJP-IPFT state government for their involvement in dirty politics with the Reang refugees for stoppage in rations and then later releasing it. The Congress party also demanded relief for the refugees.
