Shillong, Feb 02:
Pressure is mounting on Meghalaya Chief Minister, Conrad K Sangma to take away the Home department from his brother, James PK Sangma. Few of his Cabinet colleagues have even suggested that Chief Minister should take the Home department for himself.
It has been reported that many of the Cabinet Ministers in the MDA Government are unhappy with Home Minister, James K Sangma especially over his 'failure' to tackle the illegal transportation of coal and also on the alleged illegal collection of money at Dainadubi check gate in North Garo Hill.
"We have raised our unhappiness with the Chief Minister, Conrad K Sangma over the incapability of the Home to deal with the issue of alleged illegal transportation of coal. There is a general perception in the minds of the public that everyone in the Government is involved in this illegal transportation of coal racket. We have told the Chief Minister that he needs to take a call on stripping the Home department from James," few of Cabinet Ministers on condition of anonymity had stated.
