Meghalaya: Don’t blame Congress for rumblings within Govt, says Ampareen
Shillong, Feb 11:
Meghalaya senior Congress leader, Ampareen Lyngdoh said that it is really unfortunate that the rumblings within the NPP led MDA Government is now exposed to the public.
The senior Congress leader made this remark when asked about the demand of the MDA coalition partners to strip the Home department from James PK Sangma.
"It will be the fittest of things in the MDA to resolve this issue so that it does not spiral off into the public domain," Ampareen said while speaking to reporters here today.

She also said that the Congress should not be held responsible for toppling the Government.
"I am hearing rumours that the Congress is trying to break or topple the present MDA Government. We are very sorry since we have kept ourselves aloof from formation of the new Government," Ampareen said.
The senior Congress leader said that if this Government has to survive, it will be on its own merits adding that if it has to fail then it will also be on its own demerits.
"You cannot blame other political parties which are around to be silent spectators all the time. After seeing all the allegations and the entire confusion, I am happy that I am not part of the Government," he said.

Meanwhile, she said that the party has strong chances to win the KHADC bye-election of the Langrin seat especially with the resurgence of the Congress in Ranikor.
"We are seeing some positive changes are taking place with the former MLA, Martin Danggo who left the NPP deciding to support for the party candidate, Jotin Khardewsaw for the bye-election of the Langrin seat," Ampareen said.
According to her, the Congress will stand to gain with the decision of the UDP MLA Pius Marwein to contest the election himself.

She appealed to the people of Langrin to turn back to the Congress and support the party for the right reasons even as criticizing the NPP for supporting Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and National Register of Citizens (NRC).
Apart from CAA, Lyngdoh said that the Center has the Uniform Civil Code as one main agenda of the current Parliament session.
