NEW DELHI:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address 20 rallies across West Bengal and six in Assam ahead of the Assembly elections in these two states.

According to sources, the rallies will cover all 23 districts of Bengal and 33 districts of Assam in what seems to be the biggest battleground for the BJP.

“The demands of (the) PM’s rally is huge in all poll-bound states, but the BJP is focusing more on West Bengal and Assam,” a BJP source stated.

Both states will witness a three-cornered fight this time, and as it is a highly competitive election, the BJP plans to reach out to every nook and corner in the coming days.

BJP functionaries, including Kailash Vijayvargiya, national general secretary Mukul Roy, national vice-president Sanjay Singh, general secretary Swapan Dasgupta and other top leaders, would attend PM Modi’s rally at Brigade Parade ground on March 7.

The Brigade ground rally in Bengal will also be Modi’s first rally following the announcement of the election dates.

They will hold the Assam Elections in three phases beginning from March 27, and the top leaders of BJP have been frequenting the places recently as a part of poll preparations.
