PM Modi takes his first shot of COVID-19 vaccine
NEW DELHI:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi took his first shot of the COVID-19 vaccine- COVAXIN at the All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) on March 1.
"Took my first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at AIIMS. Remarkable how our doctors and scientists have worked in quick time to strengthen the global fight against COVID-19. I appeal to all those who are eligible to take the vaccine. Together, let us make India COVID-19 free!" Modi tweeted.
Modi was seen wearing a gamcha (towel), a a symbol of Assamese culture.
Modi was in poll-bound Assam two weeks ago to launch several developmental projects and address a public gathering in Dhemaji ahead of the crucial assembly polls.
