Odisha truck driver fined for not wearing a helmet

BHUBANESHWAR:

A truck driver, Pramod Kumar Swain from Odisha’s Ganjam district was fined Rs 1,000 for “not wearing a helmet” on Wednesday.

According to sources, the Transport Department had earlier registered him with three pending fines while he intended to renew his truck’s permit.

“I paid the amount and took the challan. When I saw the challan, they imposed it for not wearing a helmet,” Swain said.

They issued the challan against him on December 24, 2020. (With inputs from ANI)
