Union Home Ministry issues new guidelines for UNLOCK 3.0

NEW DELHI | JULY 30, 2020:

The Union Home Ministry has put up new guidelines for UNLOCK 3.0, which encourages more activities outside containment zones.

The re-opening of activities has been extended further from August 1, 2020.

The new guidelines were issued after extensive consultations with the states and Union Territories (UTs), together with the Central Ministries and departments.

The new guidelines also state that they will allow night-time movements. Places like gymnasiums and Yoga institutes will be allowed to open from August 5.

The Health Ministry shall issue the Standard Operating Procedure (SOPs) to ensure that protocols are maintained.

The Ministry is also in favour of celebrating Independence Day with strict adherence to COVID protocols, on August 15.

However, the new guidelines restrict the re-opening of schools, colleges, and coaching institutions which shall remain closed until August 31.
